Lester Acoustics LLP is based in Northern Ireland and provides an acoustic, noise and vibration consultancy covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, but concentrating on the counties of Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone.
The technical expertise of Lester Acoustics LLP predominantly covers environmental noise and vibration (including impact statements and impact assessments), building and architectural acoustics, and industrial noise and vibration assessment and control including noise at work assessments. Lester Acoustics LLP is headed by Martin Lester. Martin has an honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, a higher degree of Doctor of Philosophy for research in the field of acoustics, and has been a registered Chartered Engineer since 1997. Martin has been a corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics since 1988, which requires being active in the field of professional acoustics and meeting the Institute’s requirements with regard to level of qualifications and experience, in 2009 he was accepted as a Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics, and in 2015 he was elected as an Honorary Fellow. Martin is currently Chair of the Irish Branch of the Institute of Acoustics, a member of the Institute of Acoustics’ national Council, and held the position of Honorary Treasurer on the Institute of Acoustics’ national Executive Council between 2009 and 2015. Martin has been active in the field of acoustics since 1985, working as an Acoustic Consultant since 1990 and has been Principal Acoustic Consultant of Lester Acoustics since November 2000.
